Individual Development Account:
http://gwbweb.wustl.edu/csd/asset/idas.htm
Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) are emerging as one of the most promising tools that enable low-income and low-wealth American families to save, build assets, and enter the financial mainstream. Based on the idea that all Americans should have access, through the tax code or through direct expenditures, to the structures that subsidize homeownership and retirement savings of wealthier families, IDAs encourage savings efforts among the poor by offering them 1:1, 2:1, or more generous matches for their own deposits. IDAs reward the monthly savings of working-poor families who are trying to buy their first home, pay for post-secondary education, or start a small business. These matched savings accounts are similar to 401(k) plans and other matched savings accounts but can serve a broad range of purposes.

Organization for Autism Research Graduate Research Grant Program:
http://www.researchautism.org/about/index.asp
The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) was created in December 2001–the product of the shared vision and unique life experiences of OAR’s seven founders. Led by these parents and grandparents of children and adults on the autism spectrum, OAR set out to use applied science to answer questions that parents, families, individuals with autism, teachers and caregivers confront daily. No other autism organization has this singular focus. In February 2004, OAR’s Board of Directors approved the establishment of the Graduate Research Grant Program intended to encourage and support students pursuing studies in disciplines related to autism that support learners with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Including the most recent grants, OAR has since awarded $27,000 in grants to 15 graduate students through this annual competition. OAR seeks to fund studies that will likely produce practical and clearly objective results that may aid parents, families, professionals, and people with autism to make more fully informed choices that will lead to healthier and happier lives. For more information on this program, please contact OAR staff at research@researchautism.org or phone: (866) 366-9710 toll free.
